The news that Alexander McQueen has killed himself is particularly devastating because it always felt to me like he’d be the last man standing. He was restless, but so pragmatic with it I assumed he had what it took to endure the extreme situations he placed himself in. He was also an arch romantic with a pessimistic streak. It produced some of the most beautiful, shocking images in the history of fashion, but it’s a state of mind that can lead to endless disappointments. The death of McQueen’s mother last week would have validated his pessimism. It would undoubtedly have taken away his most vital support. It’s awful to imagine him trying—and failing—to cope, and one can only hope that, if he was looking for peace, he found it. For everyone left behind, there will eventually be consolation, however scant right now, in a body of work whose power will never die.

I made this set for a contest inspired by the music you love. Since Adam started on Idol, Ive been a big fan. His voice is crazy and his style and ideas are mind-blowing. I love his latest album, For your entertainment. I'm not a big fan of the album cover though, it's a little too much but the songs are to die for. Simon Cowell quits 'American Idol' - INQUIRER.net, Philippine News for Filipinos


This is sad. I kinda saw Paula Abdul leaving idol last season when Kara joined the judges table but I wasn't disappointed. Hearing about Simon leaving is just devastating. I love how he speaks for the viewers, his occasional rude remarks are very much needed and called for. I don't know how Idol will find a replacement for Simon, he is one of the pillars of the show. American Idol is one of my favorite shows and it would not be the same without Mr. Cowell.

The contest asked for a specific runway look and to recreate it. I chose this model from Derek Lam 2010 Resort Collection. I love the corset-type halter top and the detailing on the strap.I also like the color combination of navy blue and yellow gold print on the skirt. It looks classic yet stylish. Loving it!
